Reproductive Health
GDS's senior staff began their careers in international public health during the heyday of abundant funding for population activities. We were on the front lines of operations research, directed programs to expand service options in both the private and public sectors, founded or supported pioneering NGOs, designed and executed aggressive outreach programs and behavior change campaigns, and, occasionally, when our zeal had gotten the better of us, were threatened with incarceration.
That legacy is very much in evidence in GDS today. In recent years our staff have directed stand-alone RH programs in the private sector (Jordan), integrated programs in the public sector (Cambodia, Bangladesh), and safe abortion services (PNG).
